Sharp-Dressed Man
Got a call late yesterday afternoon from a woman working as an AA for a recruiting company. Was told my resume had been reviewed and could I come in tomorrow morning to met and discuss possibilities? Sure I thought, why the hell not? So dress up as I have not been for quite a while, even make sure my hana-hige was neatly trimmed (気持ち悪い) :-) and out the door I went (play a bit of George Throughgood's 'One Whiskey..).
The office, wide spacious and modern is located in one of the "better" zip codes in the area. Was shown in and began to talk about myself and my past and my resume to the consultant, then he spoke to me. It slowly became clear that I was being told how hopeless I am in trying to find employment and how I can be 'rescued'. At then end, while no direct mention was made, unless I missed something very important, it seemed clear that this firm charges the applicant to find a job, and even if I could afford such at this point, as I wrote in an earlier post, one should never pay to have someone find you employment.
Still, it was nice to dress up and look and feel sharp.
