Sometimes You Want to Shake Them Until Their Teeth Rattle, and then..
My mother sent us two gift cards good for the store where my wife works and where we do 99.9% of our grocery shopping now. Its a nice gesture, but with her on a fixed income (retired) I'd rather she not do this sort of thing: I will be working-sometime I hope.
So, yesterday afternoon, before I set off to pick up my wife, I asked my son if he wanted something nice from the store, like a good steak. He likes a good, big, thick, steak, but right now it is an item I pass over.
He said, 'Nah, If I want a steak, I'll buy one with the UNOs gift card I still have ' .(!!!!)
Another rule for parenting: expect the unexpected.
