It's going to be a hot one today, and since there really wasn't anything else hanging in the closet to put on, grabbed one of the 'notorious' Hawaiian shirts I own, put it on and went downstairs where wife was waiting for me to take her to work.
One look and:
あのシャツで店に入って来ないでよ！えりもくしゃくしゃだし！
Unfortunately for her, I am not about to 'dress' my age, nor am I overly conderned about what a complete stranger may think about what I've got on.
Got this clip from a friend in CA. Supposedly, Waco is touting ふんどし as an alternative for women to tight-fitting western undies. Sent the clip onto a friend I have in Nagoya, who dropped her jaw in disbelief, thinking this was all some sort of やらせ.
やらせ or not, looking at the fit, I can't see it being too practical for women wearing close-fitting dresses, skirts or slacks and perhaps more suited for someone wearing 和服 most of the time?
I have a Hawaiian shirt, 2 actually, which my wife hates no matter when I choose to wear them.
Sometimes she tries to appeal to my sense of season
「もう９月のよ！」
So what, its still hot.
Failing that, she tries this tact
「あのシャースは流行遅れよ！」
Oh? A co-worker of hers, a native Hawaiian at that, loves this shirt.
As a last ditch effort, there this:
「あのね、大体あいいうシャースを着る男は中年、女をもてない男だ!」
OK, so that means it’s alright to ‘have one on the side’????
You know, I am surprised that she hasn’t gone and cut the shirts up into rags yet.
